Duck Race

Our biggest fundraiser of the year is definitely the Fourth of July Duck Race. For the last 26 years our club has released hundreds (if not thousands) of plastic ducks into Mallory Creek, rounding them back up at the Normal St. bridge.

Preparation starts over the winter with our club hard at work cleaning ducks, soliciting prizes, and selling tickets at local events, and it all leads up to the finish line, where the ducks are corralled into a chute and the winning numbers are called out and recorded.

Not only does this race benefit our club’s ability to help our community, but any local youth group who sells tickets keeps 50% of their sales. These groups include the General McLane and Ft. Lebeouf Marching Bands, the GM Key Club and the JWPMS Builder’s Club.

In 2025 we sold 1900 tickets and distributed 207 prizes, including 26 cash prizes. Tickets were sold by members to friends and family but also at booths at the Edinboro Arts & Music Festival, Kid’s Day, Boro with the Works, the Lakeside 4th of July event and at the dam itself immediately before the race. We also had tickets available at Brink Ink, Chances Hair Salon, Erin’s Hair Garage, A Floral Affair and Rebich Investments.
